Strategy Transition and the Factories of the Future
Subotica (Serbia), 19th May, 2020
Overview:
The 25th International Scientific Conference “Strategic Management and Decision Support Systems in Strategic Management (2020)“ aims to promote and develop high-quality research of all aspects of strategic managements, especially decision support in strategic management. The Conference is a forum of researchers and practitioners in this area from the region.
To respond to the contemporary needs of sustainable management, trend-oriented markets and customer needs, rapid changes in the environment, shorter product lifecycles, shorter order times and greater product variety, the factories of the future must be much more flexible, with a shorter response time, higher resource consumption efficiency and higher quality of goods and services. This, however, is still not enough. What is key is the integration of all business organisational units in the added value chain with the aid of digitalisation. The factories of the future are characterised by total integration of information and communication technologies and automation technologies. All sub-systems of the organisation, both production and non-production, as well as partners in sale and purchase, and customer organizations are networked and linked through processes into a unified system. The newly developed concept, called Industry 4.0, enables managing the entire process holistically and real-time. This evolution process proceeds at various paces in individual entities depending on the industry, and with numerous challenges. Management and operative processes business models, and particularly business, IT and digital strategies of organisations are changing. Organisations are transforming digitally
